Acadian Redfish
Rug Hooking; wool on linen
Jessica enjoys creating work using marine life as inspiration and finds the Acadian Redfish to have lovely shape color and character.
The Acadian Redfish is found in the waters surrounding Nova Scotia at depths of 150-300m. They are bright red with large eyes and generally less than 50cm in length.
Acadian Redfish can live up to 75 years but their species has declined by 98% since 1984!
The main threat to this striking fish is overfishing. You can help by choosing to purchase only sustainably caught seafood.
