Biscuit Box Houses

Most homes in Newfoundland prior to the 1880’s were of a saltbox form. Biscuit box houses came later. They were named after the rectangular shaped box that shipped hard biscuits. They are two-storey homes with gentle sloped roofs.

Acrylic paint and genuine sea-tumbled glass, pottery, driftwood, and sea brick were used to create this artwork. Rare lavender sea glass included.
