Growing up in Newfoundland, catching the sight of a breaching whale in surrounding waters was not uncommon. What a spectacular show! The humpback has a distinctive body shape, with long pectoral fins and a knobbly head. It is known for breaching and other distinctive surface features, making it popular with whale watchers.
