Painting florals and botanicals is often a right of passage for watercolourists. Pale gentle colours blend softly and harmoniously into pastel backgrounds and undertones. NOT SO with Colour Riot. It is a jumble of brilliance achieved through multiple layers of translucent washes. The colours clash and fight for attention but eventually combine to create a vibrant and happy painting.
