Perhaps someone has been overindulging and acting irresponsibly but I wouldn’t want to mention any names. Dionysus, could he also be god of contradictions? Let’s take a look: wine-making, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, festivity…all lovely! However, also god of: insanity, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, and theatre. Hmmmm!
