Poppies Grow, Row on Row

My Grandfather from England, along with the one brother that survived WW one, received a Soldier’s Settlement Grant for farmland in Saskatchewan. Both of those men brought seeds for plants with them, and both grew fields of wild poppies on their land, my father did the same. As the children grew up and left home, the garden beds for vegetables lessened and became larger every year filled with the wild poppies. Those same plants spread all over the area by wind or animals. What a joy to see when they are blooming.
