Seaside Mahone Bay
There are some photographic spots in Nova Scotia that are “must dos” for vistors and locals. The three churches in Mahone Bay certainly fall into that category. Mahone Bay actually has five churches but these three, strung along the harbour, epitomize the “iconic” photo shoot opportunity. And they are lovely. The schooner in the foreground is not the Young Teazer, a United States privateer that captured 12 British vessels. A member of her crew blew her up at Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia during the War of 1812. She became famous for this deadly explosion, which killed most of her crew, and for the folklore about the ghostly "Teazer Light."
