Happy Holidays

Well...
'twas the week before Christmas, and all through Downtown
Shopping became uninspiring
It was bringing me down…
When what to my wandering eyes did appear,
Art 1274 Hollis Gallery
And Gifts for all I hold dear!!

If it’s shopping inspiration you need and are looking for something really special and unique for the ones the you hold dear; come on down and walk into the Holiday magic that our gallery has to offer. We are trimmed up for the season and we have a feast for your world weary, shopping mall exhausted soul.

The Artists at our Gallery have been as busy as Santa's elves creating one of a kind pieces of art, jewelry, pottery, sculpture, fibre art, glass art and paintings. There is just so much to enjoy…

We would like to give you a sweet sample of what you will find . Here’s three featured items from three of our artists you will enjoy when you come down to visit.

Lori Nason: The Fused Glass Diva

Her Provincial and Clan Family Tartans are literally “ a labour of love”.
Great effort is made to source the correct colours and set patterns to accurately represent specific tartans in glass. Each item takes hundreds of 1mm glass threads cut by hand and positioned while repeating the mantra “keep it straight”.
Then into the kiln for several firings.
Lori would love to talk to you about doing a special piece using your Family tartan.

Wendy Bissett- Beaver: Painter and Illustrator

From Wendy: "This was a fun piece to paint, but then I enjoy most of the pieces I work on. They are fun and I hope to convey these feelings to you with my work.
I first sketch on canvas and then work in acrylic and ink. I love the details, lines, and sometimes texture.

Enjoy!

Meryl Cook: Fibre Artist

Creative Firecracker Goddess Mode

Hooked on linen from recycled wool fabrics, the designs are inspired by phrases from her journal. “I write the phrases on the linen which become a sort of meditation while I hook. In this case the feeling is sparkly and glad to be alive.”
Meryl explains red represents root chakra (being grounded, inspired and alive). You will often see a bit of turquoise blue in my pieces as signature colour representing throat chakra (finding my voice). Lime green, the heart and relationships.

Iillustrating several aspects of her design and hooking process.

The artists of Art 1274 Hollis Gallery want to take this opportunity to wish all of our past and new patrons to be, a wonderful Holiday Season. We welcome you to come visit and see for yourself the magic that fills our space.
We look forward to seeing you in 2023!
