….Ahhhh the merry, merry month of May.
All of nature rejoices in the sweet symphony of new beginnings and rebirth. ’Tis the time of the year that a young man’s fancy turns to love …or so they say. The melody of courting rings from the treetops as our feathered friends find their true love. The persistent one note songs of passion-struck amphibians echo from dark pools, cool streams and damp swamps. The beauty of awakening rings throughout our little part of the world here in the gentle Maritimes. A welcome kiss goodbye to Old Man Winter.
I walk quietly to my sleepy garden each morning now to check on who is reaching their fragile green limbs up, up to feel the warm spring sun. Ahhh May.
We have lots to talk about down at Art Hollis. At the moment we have our Spring Show still gracing the feature wall until the end of the month. We will welcome you with open arms and vibrant colour down at the shoppe.
On Saturday, April 25th from 2-4pm, join Colleen Underwood for a live demonstration and inspiring afternoon exploring encaustic painting: an ancient and luminous medium created with molten beeswax, resin and pigment.
On Mother’s Day weekend there will be a City Art Walk on Saturday, May 9th, and, being that Mothers Day is the next day, this will be a great opportunity, Dear Friends, to find her something truly special. These Art Walks are always a hit, especially for us as Artists; a time to meet with folks, talk about art and share what we do.
