Welcome Summer…

Welcome Summer…

Welcome Summer…

I would like to take this opportunity, Dear Friends, to tell you about your Art 1274 Hollis Gallery and why I am so proud of this group of Artists.

Like a ship, it’s Crew and Captains have sailed Creative Seas and weathered occasional tempests in what can sometimes be complex, unpredictable and highly competitive conditions. Our course was charted and steered with steady hands of capable and well seasoned Captains right from the moment of its launch some eighteen years ago. I would like to say our present Captain at the helm, Colleen Underwood, has been our longest suffering Skipper and she will agree she’s supported by hard working hands on deck. During Colleen’s time at the wheel, which has been most of Art Hollis’ time at sea; we have watched her bring us safely through all kinds of weather and it is to her we salute and wave the flag!

As with all good Captains, there comes a time to hand over the running of the ship and, for our Boss, she has decided it’s time.  Time to let someone else take the wheel and steer the ship. Colleen will take a step back and remain a member of the Hollis Crew…offering sage advice and continuing to grace our walls with her magic.

Thanks Captain… We couldn’t have come this far without you.

Sincerely

Your Crew.

Of course, knowing it’s time to let someone else take the wheel is made easier when a patently capable someone joins the Gallery. It helps when that someone pitches in right from the start with energy, artistic talent and a gift for organization and leadership. With that, we welcome our new Captain, Sherry Santarpia!  Here’s to our future together - may it be a continuing success!

So to continue on the nautical theme, we’re looking forward to the Canada SailGP, happening in Halifax this June. The Gallery will no doubt take this Idea of ships, the Sea and all things salty and wavy and run with it…

Come check us out - We promise fair winds and smooth sailing.

See you at the Gallery,

Cris
