Part of the Surreal Landscapes Collection by A. Blaze Fine Art.
This is an original Painting - 24x12 - mixed media, buried under 1/8" of high gloss epoxy resin, on 18 gauge hand manipulated sheet metal.
The techniques used combine to stimulate the viewer with a holographic effect with the movement of light. This effect is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated and is only present in the Original Painting.
The base for all the foreground subjects was done using gold leaf and silver leaf which shimmer and refract light on top of the holographic background.
Permanently mounted in a rough cut cedar float frame. Hand made by the artist using upcycled cedar planks from Pemberton Cedar Mill, circa 1987, made into hotel furniture for The Fairmont Whistler Resort and eventually made its way to Nova Scotia. To keep with the theme, This frame was finished using shou sugi ban techniques - the japanese art of charing wood. This frame is engineered to support 50 lbs+. The outside dimension with the frame is 24x18.
This painting was created in Halifax, NS. Canada in 2021
Inspired by the naturally surreal essence of a koi pond.
