Burning Hues (36" x 12")

"Burning Hues" was directly influenced by a specific moment Colleen witnessed, where the fiery hues of the setting sun seemed to melt into the coastal landscape. As the sun was setting, there was a peaceful calmness and quiet around her, broken only by the gentle ebb and flow of the tides.

The colors and lighting in the piece reflect the stunning warmth of the sunset sky contrasted with the coolness of the water, conveying a moment of harmony between nature's elements.

The title Burning Hues refers both to the vivid sunset colors and the technique used to create them — burning wax and oil paint to capture the essence of molten light.
