Earth's Breath (24" x 24")

Earth's Breath speaks to the quiet power held just beneath the surface of the natural world. A dense, richly textured earth anchors the lower half — built up through Gillian Lazanik's layering of acrylic, oil, and steeped black and green teas — while above it, the atmosphere opens into a vast, luminous haze, ghostly tree forms barely visible in the rising warmth. It is a painting about threshold: the moment between ground and sky, between stillness and movement, between what is seen and what is felt.
