Monarch Butterfly

I have a lot of milkweed in my garden, which occasionally attracts Monarch butterflies to lay their eggs to produce caterpillars. Sadly none arrived this year, and this painting is based on a photograph I took earlier,  but I hope they will come in the future. Meanwhile the milkweed forms the attractive flowers shown in this painting.
