Think roosters only crow at dawn? Here is your wake up call! While roosters are famous for their morning cock-a-doodle-doo, they often crow throughout the day too! 

There is a common misconception that roosters cannot live together. Actually, many roosters can live quite happily with other roosters when you take careful steps to create a rooster-only flock and provide the right environment! Roosters are inappropriately deemed "aggressive" when they are really caring protectors. Roosters identify potential threats and alert the flock to danger, fighting off those threats to protect the flock.  Roosters also find food and guard flock members while they are eating, and look after the vulnerable. 

Spending time with roosters, respecting them, and providing positive experiences for them can help build trust. Many roosters then seek out time with a human caregiver, even sitting on their laps and snuggling!
