 JR487 - Poison Pear - Raku fired Curvaceous Crackle Pear sculpture - Dimpled Awabi Shell glaze with Lustrous leaf and naked black stem       

These sculptural pieces exhibit a variety of Awabi Shell lustre and gold lustre highlights  with black crackle on the body and lustre on the leaves in blue greens, tinged with burnt amber edging. A pleasure to view and hold.

Raku firing involves taking the piece from a hot kiln with tongs and putting it in a reduction chamber containing combustible materials, then sealing it to create a lack of oxygen. This process produces unpredictable lustrous and/or crackle glaze results.
