Apple sculpture with deep red crackle glaze, golden lustre, naked black stem and lustrous blue-green leaf with burnt amber edging. 4½" h.

These sculptural pieces exhibit a variety of Oxblood red glaze with black crackle on the body and lustre on the leaves in blue greens, tinged with burnt amber edging. A pleasure to view and hold.

Raku firing involves taking the piece from a hot kiln with tongs and putting it in a reduction chamber containing combustible materials, then sealing it to create a lack of oxygen. This process produces unpredictable lustrous and/or crackle glaze results.
