In Sunday Afternoon, I wanted to capture the quintessential spirit of life on the East Coast—where the rhythm of the ocean meets the easy pace of a summer weekend. The painting depicts a sailboat in full sail, cutting gracefully through the familiar waters of Halifax Harbour as it passes the historic silhouette of Georges Island. Ultimately, Sunday Afternoon is a celebration of life and leisure. It invites the viewer to slow down, feel the breeze, and step into a scene of pure relaxation, connecting with both the sea and each other.
