Three's Company

I was trying to photograph the colourful Purple Finch when I saw both the male and female, plus a male downy woodpecker who had arrived to take a look. I could not resist basing a painting on these three birds, especially since both the woodpecker and the male Purple Finch have a similar red colour – I don’t know why the finch is called a Purple Finch!.
