Creating this piece was an invitation to balance elements that often tug at opposite ends—the cold bite of winter and the softness of warming light, solitude and connection, stillness and gentle movement. I was particularly drawn to depicting the figure at the pier’s edge as a kind of anchor: a human presence quietly inviting reflection.
